Jerry and Marie Arenas of Palmer’s Steakhouse in Hartland are being honored as Outstanding Restaurateurs of the Year by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. This award is given by fellow members of the Milwaukee Chapter based on success in business, community service and dedication to the restaurant industry.

After their son, Tony, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 1985 at 6 months old, Marie and Jerry Arenas held their first Tent Event to raise money to fund research into the disease. They raised $1,500.Now, after 31 years and more than $2 million raised, the pair are not ready to give up fundraising until a cure is found. l.
